Õõõõõh... Meie Mees.

Some thing I forgot...
I downloaded some more songs of Meie Mees, which is a band from Estonia who covers famous rock songs, like "Dschinghis Khan - Moskau / Dschinghis Khan", "ABBA - Waterloo", "? - Shala lala laa", etc. It seems to be really cool.

And in case I'm bored tomorrow: Would someone like to have his or her name (or any other proper name) transcripted into 20-something different alphabets? I'd spell it out and post it here or to you, and if you don't have the font, I'd make a picture of it or send you the font. Anyone interested?

Since I was asked for it, here the Japanese kanji for:
• Samurai = (samurai)
• Cow = (ushi)

Esperanto Kalendaro, Laura

In English, Luisa held a really interesting speech about stereotypes about the British people. It was quite funny, and I think her speeches even seem to be better than Julia Ulber's. Or maybe equal, I'm not sure. :3 ...in the second lesson, we played some dice game which didn't seem to make much sense.
After school, I asked Mrs. Rost-Menge whether I could try our Lego video in the CompSci room of the main building (room 17). She let me in and I had to update their DivX driver and copied the video onto their desktop. I watched it on the big screen with the video beamer then, haha. Wow, that was cool, and it worked. Yay!

Back home I found the Esperanto calendar in our mailbox. I got it from eBay. And I really like it, it's cute and about the half of it is really in Esperanto, the rest is in German about Esperanto. I'm glad I got it, hehe. And [info]kunar said he was the (or a) corrector of the book. Hehe, I still spotted some mistakes (some missing circonflexes on some words, like "ĝis"). ;)

At about 18:00, youkiLaura came bye, 'cause she wanted to see our Lego video, and I showed her. We then talked (und haben auch mal wieder voll über Lehrer und Schüler abgelästert, war echt lustig) and I showed her some photos, and so on and so forth... I even missed today's episode of Enterprise (something about the Nausicaans). ^^
ラウラちゃんの足は可愛いです!
Will you be able to decipher it's meaning, Laura? ;)

Sorry, could not resist... ^^ *lol*

Michael gave me his burned copy of Microsoft Encarta Encyclopaedia 2003 (including the world atlas), 4 CDs, whoa! I'll install it in a minute. :3

Melanie had the idea to visit the Honky-Tonk, tomorrow. Honky-Tonk is some kind of event here in Leipzig, where several bands are playing in the pubs and you move from pub to pub to see them. I neither drink alcohol nor do I smoke, but since she asked me and Ines will come as well, and probably even Claudi and Romy, it might get funny. So I will go there tomorrow evening. Don't worry, I won't get drunk.

Maths, Lego, Gœld

It seems to be becoming a habit of mine coming to late to classes... I came 3 minutes late for German again. That's because I struggled for Mathematics yesterday but didn't really succeed. I asked Claudi for help, and Yvonne gave me a nice guy she knew who's a Maths fanatic and he made me find out I simply typed in the formula wrong. Damn. Well, it was difficult though... I handed in the sheet to Mr. Winkler today and said that I wasn't able to solve everything. He looked at it and said that I didn't have to calculate the third derivative, 'cause I wouldn't need it as there were no inflection points in the function. The task was a so-called curve sketching (analysis) of f(x)=(x²+4)/(1-x²).

Okay, whatever. Hey, in English we got a funny homework until next Friday (which is, in my opinion, too soon): We have to come up with a party (political term) and write a presentation where we have to speak about our party for approximately 6 minutes; we work in groups of 2 and can do whatever we want, and it can be funny. We all will get a mark on our presentation and then we will do an election and the winning party of our class will get 15 points (A+) in the end. Wow. I am working together with enigmanMarkus. We aren't sure about the direction nor sense nor name of our party, but we will probably make a little video with Lego™ figures. That's going to be fun, I guess.
After school, Markus came to me and we looked through our attic until I found two cardboard boxes full of Lego. He got the digital camera from his dad and... well, I dunno... time will tell.

[info]fay_morgenstern told me that she will probably have time next week on Saturday. That (hopefully) means that youkiLaura, her and I will meet somewhere, go to the P.C. together, then into the city, to Hugendubel and finally... see X2 in cinema. Oh yeah... That'd going to be the best day of the month... :)

By the way... I wrote an interesting article about the etymological relationship of the German words Gold (gold) and Geld (money). In fact, they aren't related at all. The roots are completely different, which I find quite strange, since gold and money are the same (or similar) words in many languages... just think of the Polish currency unit złoty. French uses the word for "silver": argent. And Japanese has the kanji 金 (kane), meaning gold or money.
Tja, es ist halt nicht alles Gold, was glänzt.

P.S.: Happy 40th to [info]caoin! :)
P.P.S.: [info]rie_footballさんが友達のリストにようくいらっしゃいました! この文は正しいですか? 僕に言えとそれらを訂正しろください。 ありがとう前もって。 ^^
P.P.P.S.: If you wonder how I write certain letters and numbers (i.e., crossed 7 or Z or 1 as a single line or not), go here! :)

チムウィから帰り、日本のLanguageFreakPack、ザビネ物語の終り#2

Yestersday evening we came up with the idea of playing Worms 2 together. I won the first three games, although I must admit I was really lucky with the placement of my worms, and Timwi won the fourth game against me alone. In the first three games, we played against a computer team called "LiveJournal", with all the funny LJ usernames we knew ([info]bradfitz, [info]avva, [info]pne, [info]ratkrycek, [info]bugtilaheh, [info]dasubergeek and 2 others I forgot). Actually I'd say we were quite equal.

The next day (today), I crammed my stuff back into my bags and we left [info]timwi's home. Actually I would have taken the train from Essen-Steele to the main station in Essen, but we decided to take the bus from his home to the main station, so we had some time left.
The train trip itself was normal - no delay, this time. My trip lasted 5½ hours and I arrived in Leipzig all safe and sound. From there, I took the bus home to Engelsdorf.

Just as I came in, it rang at the door and Christian was standing outside... with his new car. His first car, and it's a really nice one, I'd say. He asked me for a little trip, so I said I'd have time on Monday. Uh-oh... :-S

And then I opened the Japanese envelope from [info]kitvishnu! :D
Whoohoo! I am so lucky and happy about that! So many spiffy things, from Japan, Thailand and Cambodia...
• a Cambodian newspaper (េកាះសនិភាព - Koh Santepheap Daily)
• 3 Cambodian bills (100, 50 and 20 Riel)
• an English-Khmer dictionary (Khmer = Cambodian)
• a Burmese phrasebook
• 3 Thai coins (10 Baht and 2× 1 Baht)
• 5 Japanese coins (500, 50, 10, 5 and 1 Yen)
• some Japanese play money bills, hehe
• a Japanese brush pen (毛筆) with 2 cartridges
• a panda button from Japan (so'n Ansteck-Dingens), saying "めちゃうま、パンダのだし!"
• a small letter from Kitvishnu with a tiny tiny photograph :)
• a little ID card from her, too
Pretty much, eh? I will prepare the envelope for her, soon... filled with chocolate and a Pelikan™ fountain pen and some other stuff... Teehee, I feel as if I had birthday. Wait, I had birthday! ;)

There are, however, some bad news as well...
I called Sabine an hour ago. Even before I could say anything after "Hello, and here's André..." she told me that the cinema visit is cancelled. Out of a reflex I asked "Why?", which she answered by silence first. The she said something which I didn't understand... that was all. On her question if I still insisted ton going to the movies with her, I replied with a no, this time. I think I shouldn't be any more oppressive towards her. She then wished me a nice weekend and a good evening. The end.
I believe this is the end of the Sabine story. She was very short winded, today on the phone. I will see her on Wednesday at the latest. Hopefully she isn't angry with me or something... Don't think I'll get something like a last chance (as last time), though. Well... poor me, again. :(
I feel a little bit sick to my stomach, right now... :X

Ringu

  リング

Oh my God... what a good movie! Now I know why [info]timwi's friend David wanted me to watch it, hehehe. Somehow I have prejudice towards the American version... I could imagine they made it too American. But I'll see, I guess... but one thing is certain: This is one of the most exciting movies I know. Now I gotta make a photo of myself, just to make sure... XD
8 points.

Another Day with Laura

Well, today Laura visited me. That was great... I told her about the functions of ICQ and how everything works and how you send files and stuff like that. And then we listened to mp3s and she made a list with mp3s I shall burn on CD for her. Besides two Swedish songs, they're all Japanese anime soundtracks, hehe. I guess I'll need about 2 or 3 CDs for all those. Yes... and I let her fill out our survey, as well. Then we also watched a little video I once recorded from NHK, that Japanese news channel. The show's name was "Okashi na Kuni no Arisu" ('Alice in Strange-Land'). That was funny to watch 'cause a little girl speaking Japanese and doing weird stuff in just amusing. And she brought me my mangas back and, in addition, Lord of the Rings on VHS (the German version). Actually, I never wanted to watch this movie since it is really long and many people told me it'd get very boring and in fact, I don't really like medieval movies that much. But when Laura showed me some scenes of it - also scenes where they spoke Elvish (which really sounds like Welsh) - I began to think different of that movie. I think I'm really keen on watching it; maybe tomorrow. Or even today? Laura told me to watch it when it's dark and creepy. Whoo. ;)
When it got late, Laura's mother phoned us to ask whether she's still here and when she'll get home and stuff... and my mother made us some sandwiches. So, altogether, it was a great day, in my opinion. We talked alot. She went home at about 21:15, and afterwards my mother told me I shouldn't have let her go alone through the darkness. Hm, maybe... well, probably I could accompany her on her homeway, next time. ^^
