Chinese cooking @ Ulrike's; Caroline; Alexandra...
For Friday, Ulrike had invited me to her dormitory which is located in the deep social abyss of Grünau in Leipzig. Reason was a Chinese evening with Chinese cuisine and music and all that. I went there by bus & tram, and since it was dark it took me quite some time. But I found it. We were 8 people I think altogether: Ulrike, Judith, Annegret, Thomas, I can hardly remember the other names... well, anyways, I only knew Ulrike beforehand. They were cooking some Asian foor, with noodles, turkey, etc. It was quite tasty, I had brought a Faye Wong CD with me so we had some authentic music. *lol*
Afterwards we played a round of Risiko (some strategy game), which I wasn't really good at. I don't like this game. After a while my brain refused to think and I had severe problems making decisions because I could not foresee the aftermaths properly.
Then we went into another room to play pool billard and to talk for a while. I had Annegret tell me a sentence in Swabian, her dialect, then I questioned her for Saxon words... yes.
After a while everyone got tired and I decided to go home as well. Upstairs in Ulrike's room we found out that the next bus back to the main station would make me wait over an hour. It took me some time to calculate the quickest route homeward, and Ulrike suggested that I could stay in her room while she might go to Judith's room for the night, if I cannot catch the bus. Instead I spent the hour talking to Ulrike about movies and computer and whatnot. It was around 4:15 when I took the bus to the main station, where I entered the bus #72 and got home. At half past 5 I finally went to sleep.
Yesterday, Caroline came over and we talked, I showed her the photos from my Esperanto week in Wetzlar and we watched a downloaded episode of Takeshi's Castle.
Today I was at Alexandra's and that's all.
I have a hard time memorizing 经济 (jīngjì; economy), it's one of the few words I cannot find any mnemonics to. At Ulrike's, after playing Risiko I thought about creating the Language Death variant of the game. Maybe I'll write about my ideas in a later entry.
