Linguistic Experiments I
I didn't write where I was today! Namely in the city, for a linguistic experiment — Helena's experiment. I got 3€ for participating, hehe. I was first introduced to a number of objects on a computer screen, things like an apple, a bottle, a sheep, an ape, etc. I had to name these objects (they first had their names below, so I knew what awaited me), then, at the second stage, the objects where flashing up in random order and this time, other things were written below and above the picture. Sometimes the same name, sometimes completely different words like "obviously", "demand", "connection" (in German, mind you). I noticed that my reaction time was slightly slower when other words flashed up along with the picture. It confused me enough to say "der Trommel" once, instead of the correct "die Trommel" (the drum), then the monitor showed a flower and I couldn't come up with the word for it, my guess was "die Banane, äh... der, die Fahne, nee..." (the banana, uh... the, the flag, no...), which was much fun for Helena. In the beginning she also asked me what I found so funny about that experiment, but it was really fun to do. ^^
Experiments like this really demand an enormous deal of attention for me. :S
I inscribed for another experiment for Friday at 11:30 am.
Then I found Stefan, who had just passed his oral Semantics exam with 1.0 (congratulations!); Christina, he and I were talking for a while, then Stefan and I decided to eat something at the mensa. It was turkey steak with rice for me, like every Wednesday. 我每个星期三下课去食堂吃饭。食堂的饭很好吃!^^
